When things get a little messy in The Shady Pines Institute for the Criminally Insane, remember: if you want to survive, you must do what the doctor says. No matter how violent, no matter how bloody, no matter how funny. After a two and a half year hiatus, Travesty Theatre recessitated The Dead Dolls Cabaret of Horror with two shows December 6th at ALIZE. In this Carnival of Mental Illness, the skits were more offensive than ever (and some were downright chilling), the dancers brought a new type of sexy and the vegetables, heckles and even some meat and eggs (both of which, by the way, are contraband) flew from the crowd to the stage, from the stage to the crowd, and, well, everywhere. With an almost entirely new cast, the DDC came back to challenge its audience and push them to the limits of what is acceptable, proving once again that this eternally lowbrow trainwreck was once again back on track.
